A Chaplain's wife you are, Meredith!

It's official...and I couldn't be more happy and excited for you! It has been so awesome to see how God has worked in your life and I just want you to know how honored I am to know you and to have had the opportunity to pray with and for you all these months (not that it will end now). I know you will be a wonderful Chaplain's wife, my friend!

Meredith and I met (online through my blog) while my husband was away at CH-BOLC last summer. Now, her husband just graduated today and they will be heading to their first post. She has been such a huge encouragement to me since we began this journey and I am so blessed by the wonderful friend she has been to me. I thank the Lord for her, and can't wait to hear all about the ways God will be glorified through their ministry to our Soldiers and their families.

Oh, by the way, WAY TO GO CHAPLAIN DAVE!!! Praying for you...

Okay, you are going to have to spell out the acronyms for me...what training did you say?

Thanks for the link to Meredith, I will have to go try to absorb information from her as well.

You are truly an answer to a prayer to me as I try to mentally prepare for what is to come as you are already there and SHARING. Thank you!

Blessings,
CC

Congrats to Meredith and I know that you have been a great encouragement to her. Today I spoke at a womens conference and taught a session on Christian Women Mentoring other women, somehow, I think that is what God is using you for Laura, to mentor this ladies that are just coming into the ministry of sheparding our military families. God bless! love Laurie

Hi Laura,
I have been reading your blog since November and wanted to introduce myself. (I'm sorry ahead of time b/c this is going to be kind of long.) We seem to have several similarities. In 2002 my husband went to CHOBC (now called CH-BOLC) but didn't go active b/c he was still in seminary. He graduated with his MDiv from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in May 2003 and then we were married that September. We served in a church for a couple years and then God led us back to SWBTS to continue with more education. He started back in January 2006 and I worked in the alumni office at SWBTS. Well, this whole time my husband stayed in the Chaplain Candidate program. We just weren't sure we wanted to go active duty due to the separations that were bound to happen. But in November God began to work in our hearts again and we started praying about the chaplaincy. Long story short we are now endorsed by the BGCT and a week ago found out that my husband was accessioned as a Chaplain. Now we are just waiting for orders but we hope that we will be active duty the middle of June. So needless to say, your blog has been a great encouragement and actually was one of our "signs from God".
The Army won't be a complete change for us b/c we both grew up as Army Brats. We actually met at chapel b/c my husband's dad was my chaplain while I was in high school. We are very excited but also trying to trust God with our worries. Our daughter is 13 1/2 months old and we have another baby due in September.
Thank you so much for helping so many people-including me-through your sharing here.

Thank you Laura! I promise to sit down soon and write you about everything but as you can imagine, between the spouses seminar, banquet, graduation, packing up the house in SC, and slowly making my way north, every minute has been packed. I'm in VA now and will head to NY next week. I loved meeting Mary and she took a ton of pictures!!!
