R&R

For 13 days my husband has been on R&R from Afghanistan. In about 38 hours I'll be saying good-bye again, and to be completely honest...I HATE IT! I don't want to say good-bye, and I don't want to let him go for another 5.5 months!! Six months ago, saying good-bye was one of the hardest things I've ever done, and knowing all that I know now doesn't make it any easier...in fact, I think it makes it harder in some ways.

Once he's gone I'll post pictures of our reunion (if I don't forget to get them off his computer...that would be horrible!) and some of our fun on R&R, and I'll try to keep the "positives" flowing...though never hiding my honest thoughts.

I don't want to take away from the time we have left so I'm keeping this short and just asking for prayer. Thanks!

You're right. Saying goodbye the second time is terribly hard. I will be praying for you.
Much love,

Laura, so glad you had a wonderful R&R. I can't imagine the emotions you are feeling right now, but know you (and your family) are in my prayers especially for the next 38 hours.

Praying for you hard!

My husband will get to go before the army boards this Tuesday Feb 9th. We are praying he will be selected to serve as a chaplain.
I so appreciate your blog it has been very helpful to me as we prepare to follow your family on this journey.

My husband is in the process of becoming an Army chaplain. I appreciate knowing things you struggle with, but I'm sorry you do :( I've often thought as I look to my future, that R&R almost makes it harder instead of just getting it over. But I'm sure your time together has been wonderful. I'm praying for you!

I am sad for as I write this...I just finished reading from the very beginning of your chaplain journey, and it has been a huge blessing! We are in the very beginning of this process, and already it has been frustrating at times! Thank you for the insight into your life, especially right now. I'm praying for you, Laura!

Hi, Laura!
I'm also a chaplain's wife that is going through the same experience. And it is hard, because our husbands fills so much our lives.
I work full time, and I love it, because my week days are filled with stress, and I am tired when I get home. But weekends are terrible... Especially this weekend, St. Valentines... It is hard, but I know that the Lord will provide, and time will pass very fast.
Please keep me in your prayers, as I will keep you in mine.
God bless you!
